A striking climbing aroid known for its deep green, leathery leaves that develop dramatic fenestrations as the plant matures. It climbs tightly against surfaces—much like a shingling philodendron—creating a layered, sculptural effect.

Care Guide:

  • Prefers bright, indirect light; can tolerate medium light but may lose its shingling habit.
  • Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
  • Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil have dried.
  • Keep soil evenly moist, but never soggy.
  • Use filtered or distilled water if possible.
  • Enjoys moderate to high humidity (50–80%); thrives in terrariums or near humidifiers.
  • Ideal temperature: 18–28°C.
  • Protect from drafts and cold air.
  • Use a chunky, airy aroid mix (orchid bark, perlite, sphagnum).
  • Provide a board, moss pole, or cork slab to encourage its natural shingling growth.

Common Issues:

  • Leaves not shingling: Light too low or no vertical surface to climb.
  • Yellow leaves: Overwatering or poor drainage.
  • Brown edges: Low humidity.
  • Slow growth: Insufficient light or nutrient-poor soil.
