How To Use A Draining Mesh
First of all choose the right sized mesh for your terrarium. These meshes are designed to fit Exo Terra glass terrariums but can be cut to size to fit other types of vivarium or, if your vivarium is over 60cm wide you can combine two mesh together.
Place your draining substrate across the base of your terrarium then lay the draining mesh over the top before adding your top layer of substrate. You can then plant it up with live plants and decorate before adding your cleanup crew and pets.
Cleaner Water For Recycling
This draining mesh allows the water you add to your setup from spraying and watering, as well as the condensation formed as the result of heat and humidity, can seep through the mesh into the draining layer without being contanimated by the decorative top layer.
The clean terrarium water can then be circulated in waterfalls or Dripping Plants. As a decorative terrarium substrate the Exo Terra Terrarium Moss, Jungle Earth or Plantation Soil, etc. can be used.
