As their name suggests, calciworms (also known as phoenix worms) are packed full of calcium that is essential for maintaining the health of your pet. Furthermore, these larvae of the black solider fly are also full of a range of other essential nutrients and healthy fats, and can form an essential part of a varied diet for your pet.
What Can Eat Calciworms?
Calciworms can be fed to a wide range of reptiles such as leopard geckos, bearded dragons and monitors both as a treat and a staple diet. However, for larger amphibians such as salamanders, and mammals like hedgehogs, they should only be fed as a treat with other items making up the bulk of the diet. They can also be used as an occasional treat for arachnids such as tarantulas.
Each work is between 1 - 2cm in length.
Calciworm Care
The best way to keep calciworms is to leave them in the tub they arrive in and store them in a cool, dark place. Keeping them cool will prevent them pupating and helps them last longer. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or extremes of temperature, and make sure they stay dry throughout their storage time. They will be supplied with some bran but feeding them high quality green vegetables will help maintain them in top condition ready for feeding to your animals.

Calciworms are supplied in a small plastic container with some suitable substrate. Each tub is made from 100% recycled and recyclable plastic. They are available with fully tracked delivery across the UK.
