How To Use This Fluorescent Light

The T8 bulb from ExoTerra should be secured over the top of the terrarium or within the vivarium to provide suitable levels of UVB and UVA light for the species you are keeping. We strongly recommend pairing with a reflector to ensure as much light as possible is directed into the enclosure, and a cage guard to prevent your pet accidentally damaging themselves, or the light, by climbing on it. These bright white lights help stimulate natural behaviours in your pet as well as enhancing the natural colours of their environment. The light may remain lit for a long time, but the amount of beneficial UVB rays the bulb can produce will diminish over time. Therefore, you should use a light meter to determine UVB levels or replace the bulb every 6 months to ensure your pet is receiving the essential benefits of UVB light.
