What Is A Pulse Thermostat
A pulse proportional thermostat controls the temperature in your vivarium by sending pulses of energy of varying intensities to control the temperature and keep it within the parameters you have set. For this reason it should only be used with non-light emitting devices as glass bulbs are unable to work with the pulses of energy and are likely to suffer damage.
How To Use This Thermostat
Once you've opened your thermostat from the box, set the dial to the temperature you want to maintain with the heat source in your vivarium. The dial can be turned with a flat head screwdriver.
When controlling a ceramic heat lamp place the sensor inside the vivarium at least 9 inches away from the heat source to ensure it is measuring the air temperature. It should be in free air and not attached to the wall of the vivarium as this will lead to inaccurate readings.
For heat mats under substrate it is best to put the sensor under the substrate and directly on top of the heatmap.
Connect the power cable from your heat source into the socket on the thermostat, then plug the thermostat into the wall.
