Why Use A Radiometer
Providing the correct level of UVB light to your pet is essential to help them maintain a healthy bone structure. However, us humans can't see UVB, so whilst your bulb may still be emitting visible light and looking nice and bright to you, it may not be producing enough UVB for your pet. Most bulbs come with a recommended lifetime, but how can you tell if your bulb needs changing before this, or if it is still producing UVB after this point?
A UVB Radiometer can accurately tell you how much UVB your lamp is producing. This way you can save money, only replacing lamps when they need it. They also let you spot if UVB levels have dropped, enabling you to replace the lamp and keep your pet healthy.
Furthermore, this radiometer helps you measure UVB levels at basking areas so you can place them at the best level. Whether this is on the floor of the terrarium, or an arboreal shelf.
