The small entrance hole is perfect smooth so there is no risk of your pet damaging themselves on any rough edges. Once inside there is plenty of room for them to move around and snuggle down to rest, relax and sleep. Its a great way to help reduce stress as well as encouraging more naturalistic behaviours in your pet.

You can leave the cave empty or add some bedding material for your pet to enjoy. By adding moss you can increase the relative humidity of the enclosure. This can be a fantastic way to help your pet whilst they are shedding by aiding the sloughing of that old skin. It can also be filled with various materials to act as a nesting chamber or egg laying chamber to support the natural behaviours of female geckos.

Easy To Clean

The gecko cave consists of two separate sections that fit neatly together. There is a shallow base then the top part which has the full entrance hole within it. This lets you easily gain access to the inside of the cave to check on its occupants when you need to, plus it makes it super simple to clean. Just use a pet friendly disinfectant to wipe it clean, dry thoroughly and return to the enclosure.

Which Cave Is Right For My Pet?

These caves have been designed for geckos but can be used for other animals such as snake hatchlings, inverts and amphibians. The size you choose in these cases will depend on the size of the animals you are caring for. When it comes to geckos, the following sizes are recommended:

SMALL - for small geckos like mourning geckos and coleonix.

MEDIUM - great for larger geckos like frog eyed geckos

LARGE - perfect for leopard geckos and crested geckos.
