What Can Eat Mealworms
Most reptiles and amphibians will happily eat mealworms. Their smaller size makes them great for younger animals as well as the smaller species, but larger adults will also munch away on a dish full of these tasty delights. Make your mealworms even more beneficial by dusting them with calcium or supplement of vitamins and minerals to keep your pet in tip top condition.
Mealworm Care
Mealworms will happily live in the plastic tubs they are shipped in. Keep your mealworms in a cool, dark location and feed them on bran or use an insect food to ensure their are fully gut-loaded before feeding to your pet.
Most mealworms will last for a few weeks before pupating into beetle larvae and finally into beetles. They will shed their skin as they grow and you can spot the whiter mealworms in the tub as this happens. At this point they are softer on the outside as their new skin hardens, so may be more appetising to fussy eaters.
